Chance to date your favourite singers
Well-known radio station FM 4 New Generation 97.25 MHz will celebrate its two-year anniversary by selecting six lucky winners to go on a date with its most popular singers.
The hottest artists include Alexandra, the Cells, Princess, Tone Anilouth, Ting Phailavan and Lang.
“The game is played by sending cool reasons why you want to go on a date with your favourite singer to the FM 4 New Generation. The programme will collect these reasons and send them on to each singer, who will then decide which is the coolest reason,” DJ Tong said.
The first date was held at Kop Kap Restaurant on August 1 and was attended by four members of Princess, the DJs and the lucky winner. The DJs announce the winners every Monday and the date is held every Wednesday, until the competition closes September 5 with the last singer date.
“We’ve been promoting this game since the middle of July by announcing it on our programme, advertising it in magazines and distributing leaflets at popular teenage hang-outs,” DJ Tod said.
The game is to promote Lao singers, create activities for them and give opportunities to the programme’s listeners to date the popular singers.
“There is no other TV or radio programme like ours, and it has attracted so many listeners who are interested in this game that I think it will help make Lao teenagers more interested in Lao singers,” she said.
The programme will run every night from 11pm to midnight, and will be hosted by one of three announcers - Mr Vannaleth Phimphachanh, 20 (DJ Tong); Ms Vilouna Phetmany, 17 (DJ Tod); and Mr Aliya Bulyaphol, 18 (DJ Jear).
The DJs play a rotation of international and Lao modern songs, while listeners are invited to request their favorite songs by calling into the station; the DJs also close the programme each night with a cool English expression.
